Radiance Academy Hosts Nakuru Regional Chess Qualifiers – A Grand Success!
Radiance Academy was proud to host this year’s Nakuru Regional Chess Qualifiers, and what an extraordinary day it was! The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as learners from across the region gathered to showcase their intellect, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship — all hallmarks of the game of kings.
With neatly arranged boards and a hall filled with focused minds and ticking clocks, the qualifiers were a true celebration of mental strength and discipline. From nail-biting endgames to brilliant tactical plays, the event saw exceptional talent on full display.
A Crown for Radiance: Best Girl Under 13!
Among the many talented players, two of our very own Radiance Academy stars shone brightly. With calm composure and fierce determination, Shirlyn Nyokabi outplayed her opponents to be crowned the Best Girl Under 13 in the region, while Alicia Wangui proudly secured second place in the same category.
Their victories are not only personal triumphs but also shining examples of what dedication, focus, and critical thinking can achieve.
The award ceremony was a proud moment for our school — celebrated joyfully by staff, students, and parents alike. Holding their trophies high, they reminded all of us that the future belongs to those who dare to think boldly and move wisely.
The Chess Revolution is Here
The game of chess continues to grow rapidly in Kenya, and Radiance Academy is committed to nurturing young talent and promoting this timeless sport. From introducing chess in early grades to organizing tournaments and club sessions, we aim to build thinkers, planners, and resilient leaders.
This tournament was more than a competition — it was a celebration of strategy, patience, and learning. And as always, Radiance Academy remains at the heart of it.
